Just a PRUDENT Reminder in These Days of Rampant Forums
by BabaYaga inthere have been countless "new forums" set up in the panic of the past few days.
i, personally, am concerned for those i care about here.
as a precaution first of all, do not join a forum hosted by anyone you do not know or have good reason to trust.

Thinking of Leaving
Hi Finally Free, I read that write up quite some time ago, saw that one person even died from it. Thing is she insists she's NOT hungry and she feels great on the diet. She tells me that she eats half a grapefruit for breakfast and two melba crackers for lunch with cream cheese. She eats hardly anything at all and yes they inject her three times a week.
I'm like you, I follow the Canada Food Guide, and have been on Weight Watchers for years, which has helped me to keep the weight off. Just seems as though people are willing to try anything to lose weight, even if they run the risk of dying. Just bizarre.

Jehovah's Witnesses can celebrate Christmas now!
by sacolton in... birthdays too!.
well, not yet, but if the governing body decides that it's okay to celebrate christmas and birthdays .... how do you suppose the typical jw would feel ... especially those who lived their whole life being told to not celebrate and.
wishing they could?.

Were you able to say "Merry Christmas" ?
by OnTheWayOut inthis is my first christmas following the complete fade, but i have to maintain the fade.. hence, i have been uncomfortable with saying "merry christmas.
" the closest i have .

I thought I was the only one who had trouble saying it back. I find it so hard, usually end up saying thank you like we had been thought to say.

So, you're in love with someone that you're not compatible with ....
by Frequent_Fader_Miles inperhaps it was "love at first sight", but then you get to know him/her more intimately and realize your goals and amitions couldn't be further apart.
not that he/she isn't a good person ... just not right for you.
the physical attraction is real, but issues that are important to you pale into insignificance in his/her mind.

sometimes it's not that easy to walk away from someone you've grown attached to. But there will come a time when the person says enough is enough and walks away for good. That time can only be decided by that person and that person only.

I hate Pot Luck
by Nosferatu inthis friday, we're having a pot luck at work before we all go on holidays for a week.
i hate pot luck, especially when it's at work.
i gave my wife heck for throwing out that open package of crackers that was sitting on top of the microwave for the last couple of months.

well I definitely won't take leftovers to a potluck. I usually make a mexican dip with chips or perhaps bread and spinach dip, or maybe a fruit or veggie tray. Or maybe even buns and chesse slices. Something simple and fast. I'm glad I don't work with you

Affectionate Men vs Macho Men
by Thinking of Leaving ini was watching a 2004 (re-run) episode of average joe hawaii and larissa picked the handsome, muscular man over the loving, patient, understanding not so cute man.
i'm not sure if you're familiar with the show but in it this beautiful model/actress has to choose between an average joe and a good looking guy.
they started her off with 16 average looking men and eventually threw in 8 good looking ones to heat things up a bit.

lol thanks Crusoe
Junction Guy I think you maybe right! He acted like he didn't want her at all.
So women like a challenge......is this something men like also?

They started her off with 16 average looking men and eventually threw in 8 good looking ones to heat things up a bit. In the end she had to choose one of them to continue a relationship with.
The guy from Boston (Brian I believe his name was) to me was an extremely good man. He seemed witty, smart, he cared tremendously for her and she knew it, he was loving, affection, to me he had everything a girl could of wanted (even a good job), yet Larissa chose the "handsome" muscular guy who she said wasn't showing much interest in her, was very guarded regarding his feelings, seemed to lack interest in anything she had to say and couldn't even vocalize his thoughts or feelings on many issues.
Is physical attraction really that important that a woman would dismiss all those good qualities in a man for someone she is attracted to?
